Rick & Terri Young
|
During some of Rick's High school years, his family lived in a single wide trailer house and he had to share a bedroom with 3 younger brothers. He set goals back then to definitely have something better. His mother had always taught him to work hard and she emphasized the importance of a college education. Well, there was no money for college. So he went to work in the oil field and he loved it! He studied and worked hard and within a year he became a Driller. He thought he had it made and decided this would be his career. He was making way above average income but this only lasted about 3 years in the Roosevelt, Utah area. Then he found himself jumping from state to state to stay employed. His great career had become more hassle than what it was worth. But luck came his way and he went to work at an oil refinery in Roosevelt, Utah. Once again he worked into a way above average paying job. Then to top it off, Pennzoil bought the refinery. With a big name like Pennzoil, he thought he had it made for sure! He had worked at this refinery for nearly 10 years when a notice came from Pennzoil that they were downsizing and shutting the refinery down. What a disappointment! There was just no guarantee in Corporate America. Fortunately he had learned to "not keep all of his eggs in one basket." Two years prior to the refinery shutting down, he had an opportunity that enticed him to study the Fast Food Industry and fill a need in his town by putting in a Subway Sandwich
For years Rick had people approaching him about network marketing opportunities. He was never very interested because he had never seen any ordinary people make anything, to speak of. But he did want to keep an open mind, because he learned a long time ago that a closed mind could cost you more than anything else in life. You can't make an intelligent decision until you have all of the facts and study them out. Finally, Rick had a friend tell him about USANA. He didn't have the time and wasn't very interested. His friend pestered him just enough to get him to go to a USANA briefing. Rick's friend was brand new, but he told him about some
Independent Associates, in his area, making way above average incomes.
