Paul & Leslee Maki
|
Paul started his career path early. While attending the University he took a part time job in the evenings pulling orders and loading trucks for a small local food distribution company. Going to University on an engineering scholarship he quickly realized that field was not of interest to him. Changing his focus from engineering to accounting and finally to biology over the next couple of years he decided that school was not his thing. He realized he wanted to make money and be involved in business. He left the University and went to work full time with the company that had employed him on a part time basis. Paul followed the path of many by starting at the bottom. He slowly began to climb the ladder, one position at a time. . After fifteen or so years he advanced to be one of the top money earners within the company. At the time Leslee and Paul were married, Leslee was employed as a dietary
supervisor at one of the largest hospitals in Utah. Within two years she
became a mother of a beautiful baby girl, Tania. Priorities changed and Leslee took part time jobs to bring in
additional income. Within the next six years sons Jeffrey and Nicholas were born.
After Nicholas’s birth, Leslee decided to stay home and focus on
raising the children.
Paul states, “Being a good business person, I knew I needed to develop other streams of income. When a friend and business acquaintance introduced me to USANA I was less than excited. At the time my knowledge of the need for proper nutritional supplementation was nil. I honestly had no belief in supplements and thought they did nothing more than create colorful expensive urine. I had taken some vitamin products over the years and never experienced any noticeable effect what so ever! Because of the excitement and persistence my friend showed, I looked into USANA and decided to get involved. Leslee, who had experienced a few of my other business ventures, told me to go ahead and do whatever I wanted, as long as I did not mention, coax or bother her about it! At the time I really did not think I would do much with it. However, he decided to start his USANA® business and he began using the USANA products. Leslee and Paul began to work together and within one year Leslee
quit her job. Eight months later, Paul could no longer afford to work for his
employer and resigned his position to dedicate his time to the family
business. Their USANA business. (
