John Fleming & Mary Cervantes

Since childhood, John Fleming had a burning desire to be a professional firefighter.  When John was 20, alongside thousands of others, he submitted an application to the city of San Antonio with the hope of being accepted into the fire academy.  While waiting for his acceptance, he owned and operated a landscape contracting company.  “I thought starting a landscape business would provide me an opportunity to set my own work hours and earn a good enough income.  When my income finally became good enough, I was working from sunrise to sunset and dealing with every headache imaginable.  I desperately wanted a way out.”

After learning about the USANA opportunity, John started building his USANA business on a very part-time basis.  “At times, I only had minutes in a day to work my new business.  I knew USANA could change my life if I consistently did something productive every day.”  In about a year, John no longer owned his landscape company and was able to pursue his USANA business full time.

Six months after John sold his business, he received a letter of acceptance from the San Antonio Fire Department.  “Receiving that letter was a long awaited dream come true.  Although USANA was my vehicle for time freedom and residual income, being a firefighter was more than a career to me and I couldn’t let that dream slip away.”

John explains that “fire cadets are not allowed to operate any type of business while attending the San Antonio Fire Academy.  Although I had to put growing my business on hold, I was later able to pick up where I left off.  My USANA business continued to do well Because of my efforts at duplication and my team’s efforts at growth.  Successful teamwork and the power of duplicating a proven system was the secret to my success.  When timing was right for me to put my full effort into my business again, I found that my team had expanded into several countries.  I achieved one of my biggest dreams when I became a firefighter but building a USANA business has allowed me to accomplish some amazing financial goals.”

John and Mary have been working their USANA businesses together since 2003.  “I had just reached the level of Gold Director when I met Mary.  Having her in my life has really broadened my goals.”  Mary appreciates the freedom she has to enjoy life on her own schedule.   “This business has provided so much for us but being able to spend so much time together has truly been priceless,” Mary says.  “I signed up with USANA for a way out, but I got so much more.”

John and Mary truly have a solid belief that success is a direct result from helping others.  “We contribute our success to the support of our incredible team.  Mary and I are so grateful for everyone in our organization.  Our goal is to empower others on our team to achieve their highest potential so that they may turn their dreams into a reality.”
