Years
of medical expenses had kept Gene and Gwen from being able to save for
retirement. They also had just completed their 3rd year having 3
children in college. Gene had come to the reality that retiring would
not be an option until around the age of 70.
Has anyone ever told you that “the timing is just not right now”? In
2002, Gwen was approached about a business opportunity, but Gene’s
mother had suffered a severe stroke and their extra time was spent
caring for her at a nursing home. The timing was not right, so Gwen said
that she was not interested. In May 2004, only after becoming a USANA
associate herself, Gwen learned that the opportunity that she previously
turned down was USANA.
Gwen had been searching for an opportunity for significant earning’s
potential, for a few years. Gwen did not have a college education,
because she worked while Gene was in college. Then, when Gene was
diagnosed with cancer five different times from 1993 until 2000, Gwen
knew that she needed to find an opportunity that would allow her to
build a solid business in case Gene was not around to support the
family.
Today, Gene and Gwen are rapidly building a strong team. In less than 18
months, they reached the level of STI Team Leader, USANA Silver
Directors. They did not stop! Less than 4 years they have now reached
the rank of Ruby Director.
Gwen quit her job in April, 2005, and loves working their USANA business
full-time. Gwen says, “It’s not work to me.” She loves the opportunity
that USANA provides for changing the lives of people.
